About Gogo Grocer
Gogo Grocer is a New Jersey–based startup building a mobile market platform that partners with family-owned and independently operated supermarkets. We help small supermarkets expand their reach and generate new revenue by selling their existing store inventory in communities through our mobile market operations.
As a growing startup, we combine innovation, community focus, and supermarket partnerships to modernize how families access fresh, affordable groceries while creating a new, low-risk revenue channel for local stores.
Internship Goal
To support Gogo Grocer in understanding the needs, challenges, and opportunities within family-owned and operated supermarkets across New Jersey, helping us refine our service model and identify strategic partnership pathways.

Primary Responsibilities

Market Identification & Mapping

Identify and categorize mini markets across New Jersey by region.

Collect data on store size, ownership structure, product mix, and customer base.

Develop a working directory of potential partner stores.

Survey & Interview Outreach

Conduct outreach via phone, email, or in-person visits.

Administer surveys on business operations, delivery platforms, revenue challenges, and technology usage.

Document insights for internal planning.

Competitor & Industry Research
-
Analyze how mini markets use delivery platforms and digital tools.

Identify trends, competitive offerings, and industry gaps.

Provide insights on opportunities for Gogo Grocer.

Community Insights
-
Collect demographic data for areas surrounding identified markets.

Document community food access challenges.

Identify regions with strong partnership potential.

Reporting & Recommendations

Submit weekly progress updates.

Deliver a final report summarizing insights and strategic recommendations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Undergraduate student in Business, Marketing, Public Health, Urban Studies, Communications, or related fields.

Strong communication and research skills.

Comfortable speaking with small business owners.

Organized, proactive, and independent.

Interest in food access, community development, or local business support.

Bilingual skills are a plus (Spanish, Haitian Creole, Arabic, etc.). ​
